Privacy Policy

How this site collects, uses, and protects your information. We do not sell timeshares, exit services, or your personal data. We do show ads through Google AdSense, and we explain the cookies it uses below.

This policy explains what information How Timeshares Work (howtimeshareworks.com) collects when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are an independent, informational site: we collect very little, we show ads through Google AdSense (explained below), and we never sell your personal information.

Last updated: June 18, 2026.

What information do we collect?

We keep data collection to a minimum. The information involved falls into three groups:

  • Server log data, collected automatically. Like almost every website, our server records standard technical details when a page is requested, such as your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, device and operating system, the pages you view, and the date and time. We use this to keep the site running, diagnose problems, and understand general traffic patterns. It is not tied to your identity.
  • Cookies. We use a small number of cookies for essential functions, such as remembering your cookie-consent choice. We explain these below.
  • Information you give us. If you contact us directly, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your email address and the content of your message. You are never required to provide personal information to read this site.

How do we use your information?

We use the limited information above only to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the website
  • Understand general traffic patterns so we can improve the content
  • Respond to you if you contact us
  • Meet our legal obligations

We use a Google advertising service, Google AdSense, to show ads on this site. This is described in the advertising section below.

What cookies does this site use?

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. This site uses:

  • Essential cookies that the site needs to work correctly.
  • Preference cookies, such as the one that remembers your response to our cookie-consent notice so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure how ads perform. These are described in the next section.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, though some features may not work as well if you do.

Advertising and Google AdSense

This site is funded in part by advertising. We use Google AdSense, an advertising service operated by Google. To show ads, Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies and may collect information such as your IP address, the pages you view, and how you interact with ads. Under some privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), this use of data for targeted advertising may be treated as a sale or sharing of personal information.

You have direct control over personalized advertising:

If you are in a region that requires consent before advertising cookies are set, you can use the controls above to opt out of personalized ads at any time. We do not combine advertising data with the email or message content you send us directly, and we never sell that information.

Do we use other third-party services?

This site is hosted on standard web infrastructure, and our hosting provider processes the server log data described above on our behalf. Apart from Google AdSense, described above, we do not embed additional third-party marketing trackers. If you follow a link from our site to another website, that site's own privacy policy applies, not ours.

What are your rights and choices?

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information, under laws such as the European Union GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that is inaccurate
  • Delete your personal information
  • Object to or restrict how we process it
  • Data portability, a copy of your information in a usable format
  • Manage cookies through your browser at any time

Because we collect so little and do not sell data, most requests are straightforward. To make one, email us at the address below.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we handle. No method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your information safe.

International data transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in the United States or other countries. If you visit from outside those countries, your information may be transferred to and processed where data-protection laws differ from your own. By using the site, you consent to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically.
